Footprints Remembering Day

A chance to be together in person to remember our twins and triplets together

We chose the 6th of Oct as it is just before the start of Baby Loss Awareness Week. We know that some people will feel apprehensive about attending an in person event of this kind, so hope this overview will help.

Our plan for the day is to have the first half an hour for arriving, refreshments and hellos. At this point there will also be an opportunity to choose a footprint to hang on our remembering tree with your baby or babies names on. The tree will be at the front where we will also place the candles.

We also plan to have a flower arrangement that we would like everyone to contribute to and some craft activities such as colouring and making pinwheels. We hope that we will have a basket of knitted footprints for everyone to take one home.

At 11.30 we will start the more formal part of the day, and it will include readings, poems, songs, shared personal stories and the candle lighting. We anticipate that it will be about an 45 minutes.

For rest of the day it will be much more informal where lunch will be provided and you can chat with other families and continue with any crafts.

Please bring along anyone that you would like to – children, grandparents and extended family are all very welcome.

If you need any other details for the day please do ask as we don’t want anyone worrying about anything we can help with. These sorts of memorial days are always so special.

If you are unable to come we will be inviting you to request a footprint for your baby or babies for us to hang on the tree, and for them to have a candle. We also hope to record the candle and singing part of the service to share afterwards.
