Sign up to complete as many ‘Miles in March’ to challenge yourself, using any mode of movement! Walk, run, cycle, skip, swim, hop, jump one of the following distances: 25 miles, 50 miles, 75 miles or 100 miles. Or you can choose your own distance! For the third consecutive year our Miles in March fundraising challenge is back!
Let’s see if we can get more of the Footprints community, family and friends, covering even more miles in memory of our twins and triplets, and continuing to raise important and much needed funds for Footprints to enable ongoing support to bereaved families.
This event is for all family and friends of our community, from grandparents to siblings and surviving twins & triplets, and anyone in between.
We will be completing the event virtually through March as a community, sharing updates with each other as we go, encouraging each other when it’s tough.
How many miles will we cover as a team? We will update you through the month.
We have a variety of modes of movement, including running, biking, walking, swimming and more besides. You might even like to walk a certain amount of steps each day 3000, 5000, 10,000 – it is up to you.
We are fundraising in memory of our twins and triplets that have died and will be thinking of them throughout the month, sharing their names and talking about them.
Thank you so much to our amazing 2025 Miles in March Footprints team. We are so pleased to share that we have raised £6,841 this year for Miles in March. Thank so much to our team of 30 who completed just over 2,400 miles between them! We were also joined by Alter Domus who kindly raised £435 for us and completed an amazing 1,425 miles.

Claire who took part in the 2025 challenge said:
“This month has been the Footprint Miles in March fundraiser. Having committed to the Ben Nevis climb in May, this provided a good kickstart to my training and having recently lost my dog, gave me a reason to get out and about again.
I have enjoyed every walk, in every weather. It’s helped me to feel more relaxed about things, fitter and healthier. It’s even provided my husband and I with some much appreciated time together away from screens which becomes all too much of a habit.
The Mile in March WhatsApp group has been really helpful. Seeing the photos from everyone’s walks spurs me on to look for new or different places and I’ve loved seeing their progress. It’s been such a supportive and encouraging group to be part of and I’ve loved it!
On to Ben Nevis now!!”

Kristie who has taken part in both of our Miles in March events, says
“Taking part in Miles in March to raise Money for Footprints has been a really special experience. I’m not very active at all so being part of a team where I am able to set my own goals has been really engaging. Taking on the challenge of walking 58 miles (my girls birthday added up x2) in March to honour my Twins Scarlett and Brooke has been a lovely way to do something positive for an amazing cause coming up to their birthday in April. My physical and Mental health has really benefited from getting out more and walking places I would otherwise have driven too. It’s also made a massive difference to my family, as we are loving spending more time outside together. The support from the team has been incredible and super inspiring , we have a group to share progress and pictures which has really helped me keep motivated through the challenge.”
