Sharon, Suzie and the Footprints community were very pleased indeed to announce last week that the charity has its first ambassador. We are extremely honoured to share the news that Donna Ockenden has taken up this role for the charity. As well as being an experienced nurse and midwife, Donna has worked tirelessly over many decades to be a voice for change in perinatal and bereavement care, chairing a number of maternity and other clinical reviews across the UK. She is held in extremely high regard and in 2022 was listed in the HSJ’s 100 most ‘influential people in health’ and in Vogue as one of ‘The Year’s Most Influential Women’.

“I am pleased to announce that I have the huge honour of being an ambassador for Footprints Baby Loss, Twin and Triplet Support, and will continue to do my best to advocate for all mothers, partners and families of multiples.” Donna Ockenden

Sharon Darke, Co-founder and CEO “We can’t wait to work more closely with Donna and her team and we are so pleased that she has become an ambassador for Footprints.”

Donna shares the same passion and drive as the charity to raise awareness about this uniquely bereaved community, to improve bereavement care and to make sure that there is specialised support available to families who experience twin and triplet loss. It is such a privilege to have Donna’s support as an ambassador and we really look forward to working with her going forwards, as the charity continues to grow.

“Families have to be at the heart of everything we do. I am so pleased to be able to help the wonderful Footprints charity with their work in supporting families who experience a twin or triplet baby loss.” Donna Ockenden

Co-founder and COO, Suzie Scofield “We are absolutely thrilled that Donna Ockenden is now an ambassador for Footprints… our ethos aligns so well with the work she does and how she has helped to raise the importance of and need for listening to parents and families to drive change in perinatal and bereavement care services.”

Sharon and Suzie look forward to seeing Donna again soon at some of the events that they are all attending in September.
