I’m OK

2 min read“I’m OK” – Written a couple of months after losing Cassia, just before her 1st birthday
- I’m OK considering everything that’s happened
- I’m getting up each day and doing everything I need to do
- I do everything I need to but there is always a dark cloud over me that no one else can see
- I’m OK but I can be happy – if I’m happy I might cry
- I’m OK but I’d love to be good or great sometime
- I’m OK but I’m sad that I will never be who I was before and everything will always be tinged with sadness
- I’m OK but I miss my old life
- I’m OK but I miss Cass everyday
“I’m OK” Written 5 years after losing Cassia
- I’m OK but there are still good days and bad days
- I’m OK but something small will happen/remind me and it hits me all of again suddenly out of nowhere
- I’m able to enjoy laughing, going out, having fun without feeling guilty
- I can get strength/purpose by helping others and by talking about Cass so that she isn’t forgotten
- I’ll still never be the same person I was before but I’m “OK” with that now – which brings the “I’m OK” full circle
- I still think about Cass almost everyday but I wouldn’t want it any other way.
